Dr. Megehee was the first DC to be selected as a WalMart Distribution Center Medical Director for Walmart drivers. Dr. Megehee was invited by the FMCSA to participate in development of the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners NRCME in 2005. He was appointed as one of two chiropractic representatives to the 10 member NRCME Survey Working Integrated Project Team WIPT that developed the instrument for National Registry certification. Subsequently, he was appointed to the 10 member NRCME Education WIPT which constructed the core curriculum for the accredited physician training course. During his work on the Education WIPT, he assisted the NRCME Testing WIPT in writing test questions for the certification test. Dr. Megehee continues to assist with the NRCME program as a FMCSA National Registry Champion. Each show opened with scenes of children of different races playing together. Episodes featured a strong black male role model Gordon, a school teacher, his supportive wife, Susan who later is offered the opportunity to develop a profession of her own, a good hearted white storekeeper Mr. Hooper and more. Within a few years, Hispanic characters moved into the neighborhood as well. As Loretta Moore Long who played Susan later reflected: Sesame Street has incorporated a hidden curriculum that seeks to bolster the Black and minority childs self respect and to portray the multi ethnic, multi cultural world into which both majority and minority child are growing.
